Back Home!

Back home and ready to get busy! What am I saying? I have been busy, just not sewing!

It will be a while before I get to the sewing room… it’s 32 degrees F in there! I do have an electric heater, but I’d rather do other things like I wrote about the other day in Comfort Zone!

Also, I need to make a supply list… for the Yolk Yard! And, read on my new book!

Just before leaving Dallas yesterday (after being there since December 21st), I decided once I got back to the country, I would suspend activity on Facebook for a while. Although I enjoy keeping up with my friends, I’ve spent too much time and need to take a break from social media.

Receiving emails are wonderful.
Reading comments left here are fabulous!

Go ahead, make my day!

A Patron and a Quilt Show

Texas has quite a few major quilt shows! I went to the Houston International Quilt show about ten years ago with my cousin. We had a fabulous time! We were there the three full days and I don’t think we saw it all! We didn’t “stick” together, but would meet up every couple of hours for a “show and tell” of treasures we found. We’d have lunch together, then go our separate ways until the next meet-up. In my opinion, that’s the only way to experience a quilt show when a family member or friend also attends. They are “with” you, but not with you!

I can’t see ever going back to Houston. But, I never say never! It’s just too big for me. Now, the Dallas Quilt Show – I’ve been several times and am planning on attending this Friday – is just the right size. Although there are hundreds of vendors, the variety is amazing. I can hardly wait to get there!

I keep thinking… what should I wear… what should I carry to put my goodies in that I know I’ll have to have (since Dallas has a pay for a bag ordinance that applies to the quilt show as well)… where will I stash my cell phone, money, keys, lipstick, driver’s license, as I don’t want to be bothered by a purse!

The only thing I know for sure:
My roper boots – the most comfortable shoes I own! I wore them all over touring Ireland and never had sore feet!

And, I will wear red... I always wear red on Friday's to "Remember Everyone Deployed"!!!

Do I take my backpack and have it hanging on my back all day long?
Do I take my rolling sewing machine thingy, and get in everyone’s way like those small luggage things others use, or a baby stroller that mom’s forget is a tripping hazard?

What do you use?

What do you wear?

Inquiring minds what to know!

Blessed Rain

It’s been a long time since we’ve had a good soaking rain around here. The stock tank was beginning to look pitiful. Praise the Lord! We are getting the blessed rain needed! Isn’t this a pretty picture?!?

I went to Dallas on Sunday with the primary purpose of taking down and packing up my parents’ Christmas decorations. My St. Louis niece, Dr. Leslie, whom I hadn’t seen in over a year, would also be in Dallas on a visit during this time. Between the two of us, we got them all done ~ and stored away until next year ~ by noon on Monday! Yes!

She went back to Missouri and I returned to the ranch yesterday afternoon. I had had it planned not to return home until this morning. It all changed once I saw the massive storm predictions. I drove through pouring down rain taking her to the airport and the drive back to the Dallas house. Sheets of rain. But then it slacked up as I loaded the vehicle! Another, Praise the Lord!

The rain was not bad on the way back home. Off and on it was heavy, but nothing like I experienced driving to the airport in Dallas! Then, the closer I got to the ranch, the less need for the windshield wipers!

As I came to the low water crossing, then began to climb the hill on the "house side", I prayed out loud:

Thank you, Dear God for getting me home safely.
Please, now let the bottom drop out! Amen!

It warms my heart when God answers prayers the way I'd hoped!

The "Low Water Crossing"
I hope those who are in need, are also getting the Blessed Rain!
